- What software version is required to use the Allworx 9224 VoIP Phone?? [click here]
- Version 6.9.5 or higher.
- How many PFKs does the Allworx 9224 VoIP Phone support? [click here]
- The base unit has 24 PFKs. The phone can support up to three (3) Allworx Tx 92/24 Expanders for a total of 96 PFKs.
- When adding a Tx Expander is it automatically detected or is there advanced configuration? [click here]
- The Tx Expanders are automatically detected by the system. The only additional configuration is for the new PFK assignments.
- Does the Allworx 9224 VoIP Phone support PoE, including the Tx Expanders? [click here]
- Yes, the Allworx 9224 VoIP Phone is 802.3af PoE compatible and supports the attached Tx Expanders.
- Will I need a new template for the PFK labels? [click here]
- Yes, you will need a new template. One is available on the reseller portal in the downloads section. Templates are also available at: http://www.desi.com.
- Are there any functionality differences between the Allworx 9224 V0IP Phone and earlier versions? [click here]
- No, the only differences with the Allworx 9224 are the additional PFKs and a new backlight for the LCD display.
- Will the current headset lifters that are compatible with other Allworx phones work with the new Allworx 9224? [click here]
- Yes, the physical architecture with the handset and the cradle are still the same.
- Can the Allworx 9224 VoIP phone be used to replace current Allworx phones through the System Admin? [click here]
- Yes, however, the Allworx 9224 can only replace the 9112 or the 9212.
- Can the PFKs be auto-assigned by the Allworx system? [click here]
- Yes, PFKs can be auto-assigned via the System Admin for use with Line Appearances and User BLFs. Conversely, Line Appearance and User BLF keys can be reset to blank. Furthermore, all PFK assignments can be reset to blank.
- I’ve booted an Allworx 9224 VoIP phone to our existing phone system and the LCD displays “Init/Load Failed”. [click here]
- Verify that the Allworx software version is at least 6.9.5 or higher and that there is network connectivity to the Allworx PBX.
- Are there any precautionary steps to take when adding a Tx Expander to the Allworx 9224? [click here]
- Yes. When adding the Tx Expander to the 9224 its sensitive electronic circuit board is partially exposed. It is very important when installing the Tx Expander that you are grounded to protect against electric static discharge. Using an antistatic wrist strap is highly recommended. Also be sure that nothing is connected to the phone, including the handset.
